Roller Blading in Vancouver: Yes, Fun!

Summer 2002 Report

You can also read about my roller blade experiences from previous years.

Besides skiing during the winter months Vancouver has a lot of outdoor sports to offer. Like roller blading (skeelers or inline skates) in the summer. There a plenty of opportunities around to practice the sport. A couple of rounds in Stanley Park is my favorite (10 kilometers of blade-able tracks). Ton bought himself a couple of real cool awesome pair of Fila F70 roller blades in 2000 (with Abec 5 bearings and aluminum frame) and body protection gear. No rental blades for him anymore ... below you will find an overview of when and where we went roller blading. The are also pictures available of some of the events.

Date Details Where?

05) Su 22-Sep-2002 From 3-6.30 PM: Ton skated to Flase Creek, watched a soccer match and skated back to English Bay for a Jumbo Smokey, an ice cream at Mondo Gelato (Denman Street) and coffee at Starbucks.
